Background:
Arizona Native Vote engages in a permanent, year-round organizing campaign designed to increase voter turnout and build long-term political power across Hopi Tribal lands. The Hopi Field Manager will work under the Field Director to maximize long-term civic engagement, as well as voter turnout in county, state, and federal elections.
Roles/Duties:
Develop strong relationships with voters in all Hopi communities.
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers.
Develop and support relational community organizers.
Plan and manage voter-facing events and attend community activities
Accomplish voter contact goals on a weekly and quarterly basis and work well under pressure.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with tribal and county officials, political candidates, and partner organizations.
Provide daily/weekly metrics to the Field Director.
Work with ANV staff to implement organizational goals across Hopi lands.
Job Requirements:
Prior organizing experience preferred (paid, volunteer, or internship).
Experience working in the Hopi community.
Full availability for the last two weeks before an election is required.
Experience training and supporting volunteers and relational community organizers.
Familiarity with either Google Suite or Microsoft Office software.
Ability to work weekends and evenings, especially leading up to the November election.
Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with a team
A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and the ability to work evening and weekend hours. Travel is required.
Must live local to Hopi tribal lands.
Positive attitude and a commitment and passion to the cause of building long-term political power among Hopi voters.
