Elders and Youth Speak-Messages for this election year

Here are a few of our elder and youth video messages for this election year.

August

🪶Fierce women get things done. 🙌🏽 Ahe’hee’ LeNora Fulton, Navajo Nation citizen, for your public service and your continued efforts to fight for our right to vote and ensure we have representation at all levels of our government.
LeNora Fulton, Katherine Arviso, Dr. Pauline Begay, all Diné, ran for Apache County office seats in 2004 and won.
This is how we celebrate today. ➡️ August 26, 1970, is the 50th anniversary of the 19th Amendment.

A message for Diné speakers and those still learning.
Dr. Henry Fowler, EdD., Navajo Nation Human Rights Commissioner and Vice Chair.

Dr. Fowler is stressing the importance of voting, how it empowers you when you cast your vote. Also, he covers ballots to be mailed. Another core message is ask your children to help you complete the ballot, understand propositions, and appropriate forms. And send it right back rights away to the county or drop it off. Vote early. Young people who are not registered need to register and vote. It’s very important for our young folks to vote. Really encourage them to vote.
